Resources for Facebook Development
As I have said before, the amount of useful resources that I have found is less that what I expected. Drop me a line if you have resources that would like to share with us.
- Official Facebook Developer Site
This is a must-have bookmark for Facebook Application Developers.
- Official Facebook Developer App
Again, this is a must-have bookmark. This is the page where you can register your Facebook application.
- Facebook Developer Forum
If you get any problem about Facebook development, you can ask your question there!
Note: I am so glad that I am a featured developer there! For details, see here.
- The Facebook Developer Program in Joyent.com

Sign up this program for free web-hosting space and infrastructure (in particular MySQL database) for deploying your Facebook applications.
- Free Trial / Special Discount Coupons for Hostgator.com
From time to time, there are people asking me which is best for hosting Facebook Apps. Well, it is hard to say as I cannot test/try all hosting.
But my comments are:- You can try Joyent's free account. That works. However, I find that the stability of the server is not as good as other paid service. This is mainly because, while it is free, Joyent EXPLICITLY states that they will use it as a testing/beta platform and would bring down the server at any time they want.
- You can consider to use Hostgator hosting.
I am using Hostgator hosting service and I am happy with it. The stability and performance is good.
I have 2 coupons for you if you want to try Hostgator service.- coupon code: 25percentageoff2011
Use the above coupon code to enjoy 25% off (it is a bigger discount than what you can get in Hostgator's site) - coupon code: hostgatorBestOffer
You can try it FREELY for one-month!! Yes, it is FREE! And unlike other “free hosting” offer, what you will get is the standard package that Hostgator.com provide to their paid-customers. So, you are not limited by bandwidth, disk space, number of MySQL databases etc.
To enjoy this offer, simply go to Hostgator.com and sign up their monthly service by using the coupon code: hostgatorBestOffer, then select “Hatchling” package type and use a “1-month” billing cycle.
