My experience in migrating to use the new Facebook Comments Box social plugin

While Facebook had enhanced its Comments Box social plugin, I have tried to migrate my existing comments boxes….

Below is my sharing,

  • For many of the comments boxes in my web site, I simply use code like
    <fb:comments width="700"></fb:comments>

    So, to use the new format, I simply add the attribute

    migrated = "1"

    However, it is found that the existing comments are all lost!!  I really don’t want to have this happen and so I fallback the changes.  That’s too bad!

  • For comments boxes that have xid set (I am using this approach for some of the new implementation, especially for the comments boxes in Facebook application), by using the same approach as stated above, the migration can be done smoothly.

It is just me who encounter this problem??
