forum.fb-developers.info – a place to discuss FB dev issues after FB Dev Forum is closed

The Forum will be read-only after September 1, 2011.

This is something that we cannot change.

I do admit that SO (stackoverflow) is great as a Q&A site for programming in the sense that you can get response quickly. However, for discussion or how-to-do-something stuff, SO is bad (in most cases, your topics will just get closed or voted down).

As a result, I have setup a forum.  It is forum.fb-developers.info.

I do not intend to make this as a sole replacement for the existing forum (and I don’t think I can).  Also, I do understand that may be just a few % (may be a few) of the existing members in the FB Dev Forum will go to a “3rd party forum”. But at least this would give people a chat to continue the existing discussion in the Facebook Dev Forum.

Anyway, let’s see how it works.

Thank you for your support and hope to see you there!

I don’t think SO is a great platform for FB discussion either. I think Facebook made the switch to SO intentionally because in the SO model it’s much more difficult complain about things.

that is one of the reasons why I setup the forum

Sorry. You missed my point. I applaude your efforts but really, a forum about Facebook needs to be supported by Facebook. No one of Facebook will be on your forum to follow any discussion.
